WBU Psi Chi collects books for SafeCare

WALNUT RIDGE - Psi Chi, an organization for psychology students at Williams Baptist University, has completed a book drive for children in troubled families. The WBU students collected 338 new and gently used children’s books this fall for SafeCare.

SafeCare is a world-wide program that trains parents who have a Division of Children and Family Services case open for a child up to five years of age in three areas: safety, health and parent/child interaction.

The books are provided to assist with parent/child interaction. SafeCare providers supply children's books to promote the benefits of parents reading to children at a young age.
