Mohler says women should not occupy the pulpit

    Photo from sbts.eduLOUISVILLE, Ky. – Southern Baptist seminary president Albert Mohler said females should not preach on Sunday mornings during his "ask anything" podcast on May 10.

    “If you look at the denominations where women do the preaching, they are also the denominations where people do the leaving,” Mohler said. “I think there’s just something about the order of creation that means that God intends for the preaching voice to be a male voice.”

    His sentiment was met with backlash since he at one point advocated for women's ordination in Southern Baptist churches and prominent leaders like Beth Moore challenged Mohler.
