FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Arkansas Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries (ABCHomes) and Ouachita Baptist University received multiple awards for
communications excellence April 21 during the annual workshop of the Baptist Communicators Association.
Seven awards – four first place, two second place and one third place – were presented to the two Arkansas Baptist entities in the categories of public relations and development, interactive communications, news writing and graphic design.
The Arkansas Baptist winners competed against other Southern Baptist state conventions and national agencies who submitted 433 entries in the annual competition. Katherine Chute, awards chair and director of communications at Gateway Seminary (formerly Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary), said the submissions were the second highest in the history of the 64-year old, 300-member organization.

FIRST PLACE — Rene Zimny; Design Division; Print Collateral – Special Display; Ouachita Baptist University: Ouachita Football Team Room Wall Wrap; and
THIRD PLACE — Office of Communications; Design Division; Publications – Magazine; Ouachita Baptist University: The Ouachita Circle.
