Hope for the Homeless (13)
THE RUMBLE OF CARS passing high overhead is distinctive as hundreds of homeless people and others experiencing hard times gather underneath the Broadway Bridge in Little Rock. On this cold and misty morning, they will be receiving not only a hot breakfast, but clothing donated by a number of area churches and at least one business – all in the name of Jesus Christ. -

First Baptist Church, Stuttgart, seeks to be an Acts 1:8 church and has multiple missions partnerships in locations ranging from Russia to Kansas to Arkansas. -
Churches join to hold ministry weekend (13)
Second Baptist Church, Perryville, and First Baptist Church, Russellville, joined forces to reach Perryville with the gospel of Christ through a bull riding event, evangelism, a community carnival and a Sunday celebration. -
CONNECT Missions in Camden (April 5-7) (25)
CAMDEN – Playing video games, attending sports events, shopping at the local mall – these might be the types of things one would expect students to participate in on a normal weekend. But that was not the case for the students taking part in the CONNECT missions event in the Camden area April 5-7. Instead, they were building wheelchair ramps, painting and repairing houses and holding block parties. More than 200 participants from 16 Arkansas Baptist churches from across the state completed 22 projects during the missions event. -

State Evangelism Conference 2013 (51)
SHERWOOD – Fred Luter, the first African-American to be elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention, is among a host of national and Arkansas speakers to be featured Jan. 21-22 during the 2013 State Conference on Evangelism and Church Growth. The theme of the event is Reaching Across Arkansas and will be held at First Baptist Church, 701 Country Club Road, Sherwood. -
March for Life (13)
LITTLE ROCK – Thousands of people marched in silence to the Arkansas State Capitol Sunday, Jan. 20, to mark the 40th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States. Sponsored by Arkansas Right to Life organization, the silent march began at West Capitol between Battery and Wolfe Streets, behind the State Capitol and concluded at the steps of the State Capitol where a brief program was held. -
'Zoo' Church (32)
DENNARD – Pastor Rick Montgomery is the first to admit his church is a real zoo. No. Really. The congregation of The New Tabernacle Church, also called t.n.t. church, literally meets in a former roadside zoo off Interstate Highway 65 near Dennard, about 11 miles north of Clinton. -

Acts 1:8 One Day Mission Trip 2012 (41)
FORREST CITY – More than 100 salvations – as well as other decisions still being calculated – were reported as a result of the annual Acts 1:8 One Day Mission Trip, a Mississippi River Ministry Project, which took place Oct. 6. More than 2,000 volunteers converged on Forrest City and surrounding areas for the missions day, and volunteers divided into groups to serve at 118 ministry sites. -

Union Avenue Baptist Church, Wynne, cooperates for community block party (9)
WYNNE – Union Avenue Baptist Church, Wynne, recently partnered with other churches and businesses to host a community Back to School Bash during which they gave school supplies to children. Union Avenue Baptist Pastor Gary Henson said at least 500 people attended, and more than 170 children from kindergarten to fifth grade received school supplies. -

LITTLE ROCK – In all, 53 decisions for Christ were recorded at HuntFest: A Fellowship for Men and Boys, held Aug. 25, at the Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock. More than 1,300 men and boys attended the event, which is sponsored by the Arkansas Baptist State Convention (ABSC). -

Grand Avenue grand reopening (14)
FORT SMITH – Grand Avenue Baptist Church, Fort Smith, celebrated the re-opening of its worship center Sunday, Sept. 18. The renovation is a part of the church's Beyond Measure capital campaign, and celebration of its 77th year as a church. Guests of Pastor Jeff Crawford included Fort Smith Mayor Sandy Sanders, Senator John Boozman and Congressman Steve Womack. Crawford announced a new vision for the church, "Reaching the River Valley, the United Stares, and the Nations for Jesus Christ." -
Siloam highlights 2011 (40)

HOT SPRINGS – Baptist Youth Day was held at Magic Springs Aug. 27. More than 2,800 students and adults from churches across Arkansas attended the one-day event, with 32 students making professions of faith in Christ and more than 60 students making other spiritual decisions.
