Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief units begin recovery efforts in Fordyce  

Home damaged by felled tree near Fordyce.FORDYCE - Two Arkansas Baptist disaster relief recovery units have been dispatched to Southeast Arkansas following strong storms that passed through the Natural State Jan. 22, according to the Arkansas Baptist State Convention missions ministries team.

The city of Fordyce, in Dallas County, sustained the most damage from the storm, with homes destroyed and trees and power lines down, according to news reports. Other Arkansas counties with damage included Arkansas, Howard, Jefferson, Phillips and Pike.

Chainsaw crews from Harmony Baptist Association, Pine Bluff, and The Church at Rock Creek, Little Rock, began providing disaster relief through First Baptist Church, Fordyce on Jan. 23.
