By year’s end, about 60 teams from the Arkansas Baptist State Convention (ABSC) will have traveled to Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake that ravaged the nation in January 2010, said Bob Fielding, a member of the ABSC missions ministries team and Haiti project coordinator.
“Our strategy is taking a turn in 2012, as the Lord has led several churches in Arkansas to adopt geographic areas around the Arkansas compound at Leogane,” said Fielding.
“Using that base, these ABSC churches will team up to send in four or five teams a year to their adopted area for the next three years, training believers to start churches and disciple Haitians. It is exciting to see churches in Arkansas take responsibility for a people group, especially in this area that has been so spiritually devastated by Voodoo.”
Fielding said 12 weeks are currently open to minister in Haiti and encouraged churches interested to contact him at 800-838-2272, ext. 5149, or by email at bfielding@absc.org.
